I couldn´t find much info on that, so the question:

If we compare the SSS models of Silo, Silo Special & AXIS Sport: Did/Do they have the same Singlecoils ("DiMarzio custom single coil")?

Reason for asking: I have a SSS-Silo here to play and I find it a bit weak. I love Singlecoils that have a bit more power and that´s why I´d like to know more about the other SSS-models EBMM built. Do they differ only in wood/construction or also have different SC-PUPs?

I´d also like to hear if someone could compare the geetars, especially a SSS-Silo and a SSS-AXIS Sport.

Thanks for your answers!

My 3 Silo Special single coil pg assemblies sounded similar to the Sport single coils I had. The Sport seemed hotter, but that could have been the ash body and the fixed height of the pickup. I adjust my Silo Special single coils fairly low for a more vintage sound. I'm guessing they're the same DM custom single coils.

I'm understanding that the Silo Spec single coils are pretty much DiMarzio Blue Velvets, that are now discontinued. I just bought a DiMarzio Blue Velvet Bridge pup, but haven't yet had the time to mount it and try it out. I'm understanding it is what EBMM used in the SSS Silo Spec.

The single coil in the middle of the Silo is a pretty nice clean pup with fairly good output. I really liked that pup. It was my favorite single coil so far. Chimey and clear.

The DiMarzio Blue Velvets are a bit more jazz/blues oriented with vintage type output.

Maybe try some hotter single coils like the Fralin hot strat or F****r Tejas specials or similar higher output SC's.

As Candid said I think pickup are the same but different shape, wood and assembly make a diffrence in sound

reason why I sold the Silo Spec was the neck especially after playing the Albert and AXIS.

Tonewise the Axis Sport in my opinion is closer to a Tele position 1 and 3 while the silo spec is closer to the strat sound
