So this is where my 'Pro Floyd Rose on the Axis' stance comes back to bite me on the ass

I've had a go on a couple of guitars with the Earvana compensated nut system (I don't know if this is the sytem used on the new EBMM's)and I'd have to say that I'm impressed. Impressed enough that when Albert goes in for a refret in the new year I'll probably have a compensated nut fitted.

Which is all well and good, but what about my Beloved Axis ?

Does anyone know if you can get / will be able to get Floyd Rose compensated locking nuts ?

Surely someones got to be at least playing around with the idea ?

I know that players like Satriani and Vai have had some of their guitars "Feiten-ized" and they are double locking... so I know it can be done, but I suspect that an original nut is used and hand shaped to achieve the compensation.

Feitenizing a floyd guitar doesn't mean they shape the nut. Feitenizing has nothing to do with physically changing a nut. It has everything to do with moving the nut a millimeter closer to the bridge and then tuning the guitar in offsets to the E's on each string...that's the easiest way to explain it. The EBMM nut and the earvana style thingy basically change the length at each string instead of moving the whole nut. So there you have it.

No problemo broham! I saw somewhereelse that a tech advised a kid that they needed to have a custom nut built...I call shenanigans on that guy tho...he's trippin'. There's nothing out of the ordinary with the nut on my Suhr...its a regular nut...it's just closer to the bridge...

I still think its a cheek that you get charged a fortune for a feiten setup, when its just nut shifting and a change to the intonation! I must bottle that snake oil.....
