I've been doing some searching and reading, and if i understand it correctly, even though my Luke came with 9's on it from the factory, it should be able to accept 10's with out haveing to have the nut slots widened or any other mods done. Am i understanding this correctly ??

you should be fine going from 9's to 10's. Widening the slots has no bearing on the type of nut used (compensated or otherwise). I would only recommend using an experience repairer with the correct tools, if you do get them widened...

What is a "Compensated Nut" ? :confused:

The compensated nut improves intonation between fretted and open string, most notably with chords closer to the nut. As you fret a string, you ever so slightly increase the tension it is subjected to, which slightly raises the pitch. The compensated nut "compensates" for this by a specific amount with a certain size relief cut into each string slot.

Thanks guys, i'm getting ready to get me some nut sauce, do any of you hve any tips on how to use this stuff, or is it pretty straight forward.
