I shipped a guitar to Portugal in July and US Customs opened the packing to inspect and trashed the guitar, scars, scratches scuffs everywhere. It was brand new. The seller returned it to me after I received a courteous and quick reply from Dan Mc to send it back for repair. Now the fight is on with the USPS insurance claim and another report to the US Customs. Hopefully this will settle. Moral, USPS may be cheaper to Europe but they do not retain possession of the items going abroad like UPS does. Chose your shipping carefully and ask questions, especially on the handling and transfering

The best

Just a follow up, thanks and complement to Dan McP and crew for the superior service and care. I got the guitar back and it is absolutely perfect. I love my musicman guitars (and wonder why I sold this one) and appreciate all the help.

USPS is now using FedEx to fly their stuff overseas. So, it's reportedly more expensive than it might have been in the past.

M-Guitars,

Just a question: was it the "Customs" people in Portugal that trashed the guitar, or was it the shipper(s)?? You seemed to focus on the shipping, just checkin' - thanks!

It was US customs that opened it and messed it up
