Hi guys, im making a few inquiries about the trem on the axis super sport. Im a massive steve luckather fan and i noticed that on his signiture guitar he has exactly the same tremelo as on the super sport (vintage trem). He is quite a heavy user of the whammy bar and he has his bridge floating and whilst i loosened the springs on the back to allow my bridge to float, the guitar cannot produce that 'brrr' sound, (flicking the bar)-Jeff Beck type sound. Im interested is the bridge the same as on the Luke guitar and if so why cant I get these cool whammy noises. Ive currently got two springs in the back cavity and I must admit there isnt really a smooth action of the bar at all, bending flat or sharp. Is the super sport capable of these Jeff Beck-isms? Has anyone else encountered similar problems?

Thanks very much

Ashton

Hey there! I'm a huge Beck fan as well- I love what he does with the bar and the flutter sound.

It is the same bridge, though the saddles are different (vintage on the Luke, block on the ASS). I've set mine up to float before and didn't have any problems ... so it could just be a tension issue? The Luke is set to pull up three semitones on the G string- you may need to get enough floating on the ASS that the tension is even enough for the flutter. Just guessing here.

The tremelo is pretty hard to depress. Ive got two springs in there as well. The arm is pretty loose, but i haven't got the right sized allen key to ammend it. It just feels very hard to depress and use the bar.

btw
my trem bar for my axis ss is the cream coloured one. Is there another one, the black one, is it better?
