:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

In the past we used equal amounts of poplar or ash, and a small amount alder, we are using almost all ash now. We always use ash on translucent finishes.

99.99 stingrays have been made with ash and 100% for at least the last 8 or nine years

And I´ve seen few serial numbers "alder recognitions" for transparent finish....

"in the past" meaning no specified time, meaning not the last 8 or 9 years. Bearing in mind the stingray model is 33 years old... 8 or 9 years is nothing. I know in the 90's they used a few different woods but as they said, recently (and by recently i mean this decade), they have been using mainly ash.

I don't are about woods, but if there going to be made out of two different types of woods, the instrument should be labled as to which type.

Yes 99.99 out of 33 years is 32.99 years and 9 years out of 33 is 27%

....
Just having a little fun.

Again I don't care what my bass is made out of. As long as it sounds looks and plays good. But others disagree.

If there is a relevant question, ask it and I'll either tell you the answer or get you the answer if I don't know.

But this question of what woods are being used and what woods have been used along the way appears to have been answered and does not deserve a load of un-smiley faces.
