Don't remember that one. But you could find an old hardtail SSS Sport and throw some good tele p'ups in there. (Yeah, I know, different bridge. But I'd leave the MM bridge on there and change the pickups.)

This gets my vote.

You wouldn't have to route the body, you don't need to worry about different sized bridges and the associated screw holes, plus you don't damage what is a (fairly) rare guitar.

I'd love to see that one...I've been thinking about some teleish mods to my axis too, but they are mostly visual rather than structural...black matte pickguard, control plate, a nickel-covered splittable paf and a neck tele pickup...

I made some crappy drawings at the time...

One day I'll find the time to complete the project...if I'll have the heart to drill some holes in my Sport...
