I know these basses are rare, but how rare are they exactly? Anyone know numbers of the SR5, bongo, and 4 string versions produced? Or were there even any bongo versions? And also, I'd just like to say that I purchased a Copperhead Bronze SR5 a few days ago and it is expected to be here around friday.;) I'm excited! It will be my first EBMM bass! WOOT!

I'm pretty sure they only made SR5's in that finish, or at least i've only seem them in that finish. As for exact numbers, i'm not sure, but i know they're RARE! I'm sure someone from EB customer service could give you a more exact number

I've seen SR4s and Sterlings in Copperhead Bronze also.

I think I can remember Dargin (? or some one) saying approx 100 (??) instruments were made in that finish and most went to Guitar Centre.

I recently, and impulsively, BINed a Copperhead Bronze SR4 on eBay. The seller was a music store, but just had it listed as orange. I recognized it as more of a rarity from hanging out here. With the Live.com rebate I got it for $845 shipped.

Anyway, when I got it I was just amazed. It is so gorgeous in person. I thought the StingRay neck might be a little thick for me, but it's wonderful. The bass is in great shape, not a scratch, just some thumb wear in one spot on the pickguard. And best of all from my POV, it's an excellent weight for me at 9 lbs 4 oz.

As much as I love my Bongos, this one is getting all the playing time right now. It feels so right. So much for that fleeting idea of flipping it. LOL. Anyway, just thought I'd share a happy little Copperhead Bronze story.

Hey Lisa,

I'd love to see some pics of that bad boy. Better yet, some pics of you playing that copperhead. And better still, just bring it along when you travel up to see your brother. Will that be happenin anytime soon? Portland is the perfect place to spend the night. :D

What a beautiful finish!

Oh, and Lisa, I think I saw that one as well! Congratulations! There's just nothing like a 'Ray... ;)

When I fell in love with the Sterling it was a Copperhead Bronze at GC...

Totally fell in love with it but I passed on it and ordered one "my way"...

I still wonder about whether or not I did the right thing...

Some sweet basses there :) Some better photos in better light would be much appreciated :) (nothing against your photography! It can just be tricky to do ebmm finishes justice sometimes, particularly the shiny/sparkly ones!)

does anybody know the exact figures of how many copperhead bronze sr5, sr and sterlings have been built?

(I rreally wanna have a copperhead bronze, one of the coolest colors ever!)

Copperhead Bronze was a color made for Guitar Center, they made lots of different guitars and basses in this color. It is rare and it is a great color, I've never seen one in person, but I'm sure that in person it rocks!!!.

It's a gorgeous color, I had a Sterling and a Stingray but sold them when the HH models came out.

You might do a search, I recall a thread some years back where the numbers were discussed.

It seems I recall that when I bought my CHB SR5 a couple years ago, EBMM told me they made "around 100" of the SR5's.
