Copperhead Bronze StingRay 5 HH

Hello, I'm new to the forum and was wondering when my bass was made and if it is rare. I've never seen one like it anywhere on the web. It's a StingRay 5 HH Copperhead Bronze finish. Serial E53997. I Bought it new from a local store not GC so this color must not have been a GC exclusive.

I think that was a 2006 finish and if memory serves, not many were made. The general consensus was that most of them went to Guitar Center. I can't say for sure that all of them did, but that's what was discussed back then. I might have some details wrong. Keep in mind that I don't work for the company, I'm just a lowly moderator - but I remember these! I liked that finish.

In any case, that's going to end up being one of those rare birds.

That looks to be Desert Gold or possibly Orange Firemist. Copperhead Bronze was dead and gone long before the HH basses started production.

Of all the colors over time, aside from the sparkles, Copperhead Bronze is one of my favorites that I'd buy in a heartbeat! Show me a lefty in it and I'll buy it NOW!

Thanks for the info. Even if it's not copperhead bronze I can't find one any with the same finish, pick-up configuration and pickguard. I bought it in 2007 and EB didn't even have the option for it for basses on their site. If someone from EB would comment about whether it's rare or not I'd appreciate it. In any case it's one of my babies and I love it. It would be cool if it were rare though and the color is darker in person than in the photos with a hint of micro flakes.

It looks just like a Telefunken U47. Not really, but it does look like a Desert Gold SR5 HH with a Black Ice PG.

Post the serial number in the thread at the top and see exactly what finish it is and when it was made, etc etc etc.

2007 is definitely Desert Gold. Its rare in the fact that not that many people ordered anything other than a Bongo in Desert Gold, but that doesn't necessarily mean its a collectible either.

Regardless, its a kickass finish and a killer bass.
