Correct Angle for EBMM JP Bridge?

Good morning forumites!

I was wondering if someone could describe or possibly hots pictures showing the correct angle of the bridge on the JP model.

It seems to confuse repairers/techs/Plek machines due to the fact the baseplate is a wedge shape like <, rather than flat like most trems.

Also, whats the optimum height for the bridge to sit in the body?

A description would be great, but pics would be even better.

Basically the top of the bridge plate should site parallel to the body. To be honest it shouldn't be too far out of the cavity either, hence the adjustible saddles. To achieve the parallel, either tighten (if the plate is forming an acute angle with the top of the body, like the trem is slightly depressed) or loosen (if it forms an obtuse angle wit the top of te body, like it's falling back into te cavity) the trem claw screws. A slight helping either way should cure it. Then make sure your bridge saddles are following the curvature of the fingerboard. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice.

Is it safe to raise and lower the bridge height at the pivot points whilst the strings and bridge are under tension or is it best to back off the strings. I don't want to damage the knife edges.

It's great to own one of these fine guitars. I played my first Musicman 14 or so years ago. It was a Silo with the EB eagle on it, which I understand was quite a rare guitar. I say 'was' as it was unfortunately destroyed in a fire at the music shop I played it in and subsequently worked at once the shop had been refurbished. They always had a good selection of EBMMs and that's where I fell in love for them. I was also lucky enough to try one of the first EVH models that arrived in the UK as I got to know the head of Strings n' Things, the UK distie!

Now, I'm finally lucky enough to own an EBMM, a first run, hand signed Mystic Dream 6 string with all the extras! AFAIK, I was the first to have one in the UK!!
