MAN!
What a shameful (or should I say shameless) misrepresentation.
Jon, do you see a ton of this in the local classifieds as well or is it mainly an eBay thing?

Sounds like the seller is confused:

Q: Is this a Ernie Ball made my Music man or a OLP made guitar? Made in the USA? A: This is an Ernie Ball made by OPL. (china)

This is why I despise OLP's.

Its it just me, or do a good percentage of people who sell OLP's on eBay get "confused" very easily? Honestly... I think I wouldn't mind it so much if the people selling those things didn't think that their potential target demographic was a dumb as they are. ;)

I remember one guy who striped up an OLP and gave it a Floyd and DiMarzios and then proceeded to try to pass it off as an EBMM, and stuck all these other brand names in the auction so search engines would pick it up. I emailed him asking about the "Music Man Kramer Axis 5150 EVH Gibson Stratocaster Fender Hamer model" :D

it's the seller....not olp's fault......

I know, it's the people who completely misunderstand the whole thing. I've heard 'salespeople' in music stores giving people the whole 'they're identical, only one is made overseas.' It just bugs me. I know its not OLP's fault. We've gone over it here a bunch of times. I understand the reasoning behind them, but I still don't like it. ;)

People usually don't understand the difference until I tell them to think if it as being like a Squier Strat being compared to a fully loaded American Deluxe Stratocaster as far as quality os concerned. THEN they seem to get it.

This is not to say that OLP's and Squiers are bad guitars. They're fine for beginners... I would've liked one 8 years ago when i was starting out.

I was in our friend Ed Romans store last week. It seems that he must love OLP's as there was literally hundreds of them in there! And no real EBMM's to be seen except one solitary JP. Mind you, I had never seen a 12 string OLP or double neck one before in the flesh before. Wish EBMM made them!
