so i get my new axis today. the body is mint. the neck while real dirty feels really good and has a nice birdseye. might clean it might not. the bad thing. the gotoh saddles and screws have corrosion on them as well as some of the pickup poles and the pickup selector is wore down to the brass. i am non to happy about this at all. anyone have tips on how to get the bridge clean again the best i can? also what do you guys think. i was told this was near mint. i dont call corrosion on the bridge, pickups and selector near mint. should i ask for a price cut? just wondering what the family thinks!!

put a mix of lighter fluid and a bit of oil in a plastic box.. let the parts soak, then brush off with a soft toothbrush. should get rid of the corrosion, or at least some of it. repeat if necessary.. the result depends on how bad they are attacked.
if you need new parts you should get in touch with customer service. they are the best for a reason ;)

as for price cut id tell the other end how i felt about the corrosion. if it was mine id like to see a reduction so i could buy new sadles and switches. the neck can be restored so i wouldnt worry about that one :)

well just plugged it in. bridge pickup worked great. switched to the middle/both and the front only and got nothing but hum and squeal so now i gotta figure this out. not a near mint like stated.

that was the pick from the listing only thing is they must have had some massive flash cause the neck is no where near that bright and the top is alot darker. not really aqua like it looked.

Yeah, gettng products that don't match their product description is extraordinarily nerve grinding and unncessarily exacerbating to stress levels. Go talk to that seller. I'd follow MrM's advice on cleaning, but I'm the kind of guy who'd rather buy new parts. Just cause.

That top IS great though.

So congrats!
