hey guys...couple questions on the axis for ya's..
just started a cover band, and as it turns out, my Axis is going to be drop D tuned for when we do our drop D sets (how's that for a plan..heh)..
anywho, I just put some hybrid slinkys on it..cause I wanted to get a thicker sound on the lower strings...this is the first time I've changed strings on the Axis since I've had it...I'm used to fully floating floyd roses (my esp lynch model has one) so this type of trem is a new animal to me...
anywho, I noticed since I changed the strings, the tension is OUTTA CONTROL...my fingers are killing me today and I hardly even played yesterday...and I've been playing alot the past few weeks....I'm thinking that if I move the springs around in back or maybe even just take a spring out it would solve that problem??
thoughts?
another question...is it possible to lower the action on the Axis without screwing with the struss rod? I'm happy with the action on every string and area except the high e and b strings from about the 12th fret on up..as I said, I'm used to just being able to raise and lower tyhe bridge with the turn of a flat head screw...
thoughts?
thanks in advance!!
