I was dropping off an amp on consingment at our local EBMM dealer yesterday and got to play a Rosewood Axis briefly (unplugged). Un-(explative deleted)-believable neck feel; now I know why all the PRS guys call it "crackwood"! What a resonant guitar, even with the Floyd Rose bridge it rang out like a string-through hardtail guitar!

A rosewood Axis SuperSport with MM90s is definitely next on my list! :D :D

I really want to play one - I am just about to pick up a rosewood neck McCarty - they sound and play amazing - I'd love to try a rosewood Axis at some point - preferably with p-90s- maybe later in the year :)

I was lucky enough to sit down with a Rosewood Axis yesterday for about 20 minutes too! John's right, the neck is absolutely incredible - it seemed to me that there's a "warmth" or "softness" to the Rosewood under your hand that is very different from the feel of the maple, but there was no maple necked Axis in the store to compare it to... it certainly renewed my desire for one of these beautiful instruments. My friends at the shop were trying to convince me to plug it in, but I didn't dare for fear I'd take it home (and if I bring a guitar home this year, my wife will be someone to fear!! :D )
