This happened on Wednesday night in Tulsa, Ok. To be as concise as possible, I ended up in Tulsa at a downtown hotel that I had never been to. As we arrived at the hotel, I noticed 2 tour buses painted in Jimi Hendrix decor. Low and behold, the 2016 Hendrix Experience Tour was playing that night. I hadn't heard much about it, but the hotel van driver advised me that Dwezil Zappa was the guitarist. I got to my room, searched the internet, and whoa.......... the guitar lineup was monumental. The long and short of it is this; I was able to meet Zakk Wylde at the hotel before the show. He was one of the nicest gentlemen that I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. We talked guitar briefly, and I showed him a picture of my collection(All Balls, btw). I explained how I happened upon EBMM and my limited knowledge of how the company got started and has since flourished. He was very inquisitive about the playability of my guitars, etc. I totally promoted the product with great pride. He then asked, " so, you coming to the show tonight?" I told him that I didn't arrive in time to purchase a ticket, and the show was sold out. He simply replied, give me your name, and I will have tickets at "will call" for you. He held true to his word, and the rest is history. What a great man!! The fact that I was able to tell him why I sold my strat & tele after 20+ years and fall in love with EBMM was almost as great as being able to see him live. He's a monster player!! He was so interested in how the necks felt on my guitars. It was a surreal moment.
