This is for an online song contest that I'd love to win so I'd also like to get some feedback on the mix so far. I know there are some gurus on this site. Anyways I'm using only my Sub, Sub bass, and Martin for this song so far, gonna do some leads next. I'm also a beta tester for the Riffworks software that sponsors the event and massive spammer of EBMM on the site there.

Maybe we could get an EBMM sponsored prize one year? For now the prize is a Taylor Solidbody I wouldn't mind having and a bunch of software too. Anyways here's the track so far. :)

Listening as I write this...

very cool track, the synco-Flamenco-pated breakdown is very cool!!

the only things that have caught my ear so far is that to me it's a bit abrupt in the intro where it goes from the acoustic line to full on wall of distortion guitars, my only though would be to double the acoustic line with a clean/chorused electric to soften the blow just a little and also I think the song would do fine and be ok to end @ about 4 min. Lots going on and is really cool.

can't wait to hear the vocal hooks!!

Thanks a bunch. I'm gonna give that a try for sure. I don't really sing so I'll have to shorten it up to make it interesting. I'm pretty happy with it so far, but I've had a few also. :D

I like it but my advice would be to play around with the panning of the guitars a bit more. Take advantage of automation and mix it up a little...

Thanks for the feedback again. I'm just a hobbiest, but I do have some decent monitors. I don't know if you guys clicked my second link but its wildly different then my first and about as good as this song is going to get. I may mic up an amp and redo the leads with some tubey goodness instead of the Pod, but it sounds pretty good to me. Also I like the bass to be very articulate instead of a mass of low end thunder.
