After seeing it without the pg if it were mine I would either plug the holes or use a clear pg. Plugging would be my first choice if it could be done good enough to hide the holes. Otherwise I would put a clear guard on it.

A third option other than hole plugging or a clear PG,
is to skip the PG, but accentuate the holes instead of
hiding them. Put dressy screws in the holes, like the
"button head" type. The oval shape that's "ghosted"
by the array of screws keeps a bit of the MM trade
dress, but is less obtrusive than a clear PG.

Take a look at this Axis sell on the web without pickguard !
It seem to have no holes.

the problem is that EBMM's logo is really cool but I don't like the emergenza's logo
so no clear PG (and it's too difficult to find in France)...

If you search the web there are manny of these basses and guitars to be fond from different years between 2000 and 2005. In 2005 they switched to sub series. In this search it seems that manny people didnt like the designs and painted em, or put pickguards over em. And in one case a guy even wraped it in a sort of leather corset. .. it's a shame that these unique instruments are getting hidden this way but it's also a shame that ebmm didnt make the designs a bit nicer :p

for me it would be a perfect candidate for a custom refinish

but we all have different taste so perhaps you want to keep it :)

It's a unique piece, very few of them are out there and I would keep it as is and play it without any problems at ALL.

But I can also understand that not everyone is as weird as I am.

I agree with you and i prefer sell it and buy another one when I will be weary by it

No. You should consider that it's rare and out of production
and ... most significantly ... that it seems a large number of
peeps would love to own it just the way it is.

Conversely, the 2001 version that Sanderherman links to is
regarded by all who've seen it as soopreemlee uglee, and if
you want a candidate for a refin, no one has any aesthetic
qualms about that one. Yeah, a few will say "Uglee, but it's
rare, so don't mess with it" [about the 2001] ... but not one
of them want to hang it on the wall between gigs to admire
its "charms".

The 2001 is a candidate for F3nder's $2500 optional Custom
Shop Roadworn Chainsaw Massacre finish. That way, you'd
maintain, and even enhance, its historical significance as an
icon of eminently playable but cluelessly tasteless "design".
