Yeah...I'm not convinced about the pickguard thing either, it just seems out-of-place to me...but I'm not a fan of pick guards anyway. But I *do* like the humbucker in the neck position.

Ditch the pickguard, but I'd love a neck humbucker that I could coil split on my Luke.

I agree, the scratchplate looks terrible. I like the neck humbucker option though.
Looking at the photo's, to me the nut looks damaged on that Luke.
