Ok guys im looking for some input here. I have a MM Axis and my other guitarist has a Sterling AX40. I ordered 2 EVH D-tuna's to install on both guitars. I installed 1 on my Axis in 10 minutes no problems works 100% perfect, tried installing the other D-tuna on the AX40 and no luck, (seams to only move 1/4 of a step).

So I swapped the d-tunas from one guitar to the other and my MM Axis still worked Perfect and the AX40 Did not. Im running out of ideas and even had another tech look at it with no luck.

Any suggestions? And thanks for the help.

DTuna on an AX40

Assuming you have leveled the trem (The factory install is butchered on the Sterlings) you can install the DTuna. Now the Sterling is cheap licensed floyd so be careful.

What do I mean:
- Its shinny but underneath its soft metal
- The sustain block is very small and made from cast
- The springs are short and dont stretch well
- The screws that hold the spring clamp are very short

yes, I had an AX40...i installed a real Floyd, dimarzios and switch craft switch. Sold it.

It sound killer but it was still lipstick on a pig.
