(Apologies if that has already been raised here...I couldn't find any similar posts)

Consensus please...anyone else think this is a fake ad? $100 for Dargie Bongo sounds just a little too good to be true. (A certain Dargie Luke got offered for sale multiple times on eBay at incredibly low, low prices...all but one ad was a fake...so I'm now suspicious of any Dargie selling on eBay).

Music Man 4 String Bongo Bass - eBay (item 330219914528 end time Apr-06-08 19:15:00 PDT)

Seems to be the one tsarter had for sale a couple of weeks ago:

Wow. Did you happen to notice that tsarter is in Santa Rosa, as is the eBay seller?

Did you consider that maybe it actually is him that is selling it on eBay, and he is going to let the market set the price?

This thread and the title are certainly not going to give him any sort of positive exposure for the auction, and could certainly drive everybody on the forum away in droves.

I'm glad I don't have any eBay auctions going right now that you can sabotage with the entire EBMM online community.

Just because it's at $100 now doesn't mean it will stay there.

Lots of people don't like Paypal. He may want an echeck through Paypal or something. Regular fees on a $1000 bass would be $30.

Looks entirely legit to me.

Never really noticed until now how that Martini Olive green on the back of the neck makes that particular Bongo flavor pop.

I guess I'll be watching it, along with everyone else here...

Absolute humble and sincere apologies if it is a legit ad.

The reason for the paranoia is that when Larry sold his Dargie Luke on eBay in January, someone copied the entire ad from Larry's ad...pictures, description, everything...and set a low price (of around $100). Even after Larry's Dargie sold, it was listed 5 or 6 times again.

There was no intent to sabotage a legitimate eBay ad. Only to seek confirmation.

Hey gents,

It's legit. I posted if FS here a few weeks ago with no takers so I put it up on E-bay. Time to clear some debt again.

Also, I found a bass I sold a couple years back that I was really sorry to let go - was made by Lynne Ellsworth of Boogie Bodies. Has solid brazilian rosewood neck and a chambered rosewood body. Amazing bass. Was originally ordered by JPJ, but was never picked. Ended up in Sly Stone's band before I got it. Mistakingly sold it a couple years ago. Was just talking about it with a friend and then I saw it that night on E-bay. Selling the Dargie will pay for it.

Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions about it. I don't know what the original post title was but it sounds like I'm glad you edited it Jack!
