Evening,

I've been out of playing for about 5-6 years now. getting back into it though. I have been trying to find information, both cost/specs/rarity, of my Dargie Delight 5 string. It's in mint condition, not a single scratch/dent/etc on it. Martini glass inlays and olive green colour.

Basically, I fell in love with it when I was younger, put myself in debt for a while to get it, and now can't find much info on it.
Currently, I'm out of my first house due to renovations, I also need to know how much to insure it for.

Serial number is: E48557

Any info/help would be appreciated. :)

Cheers

I payed 2k (USD) for my SR4HH which I think was probably slightly higher than I could have gotten away with if I'd waited for a while before pouncing. Mine was/is in mint condition like yours - they don't come around too often though, and I would never sell mine for less. Actually, I will never sell it at all. :)

Unless I missed it you didn't say what model you have. You can get some information by posting your serial number in the Serial Number Database thread at the top of the main Bass Guitar page.

If you're looking for the replacement value it might be more than you paid for it because that color scheme can be hard to come by and I don't think you could order a one-off if you wanted to.

I'm sure there will be others along soon that know a lot more about this than me that can tell you everything you need to know.

How much of a difference in cost does it make if you insure it for say 1400 or 2000? 2k would most likely be enough to help you find a replacement pretty quick if yours got stolen or crashed, 1.4 might take a while and if/when the economy picks up might not be enough even for a bargain.

Have no clue how it works for you US guys, but I have mine insured (and valued by the insurance company) at a value that hopefully would help me get a replacement pretty quickly if bad luck would strike.

Thanks everyone! I'll try out the SN thread. Glad I found this forum, it's quick and full of people you don't need a crowbar and lolly to get information out of.

I don't need a lolly, but I wouldn't say no to a shot or three of good tequila. I recently rejoined the Dargie brotherhood after a couple of years of not having one.

Last time tequila was involved I think I lost an unhealthy amount of skin, time and self-respect. But I'd do it again.

I don't think I could ever sell my green baby. Who needs children when you have a Dargie?
