Sorry if this is stupid or has been covered, but I couldn't find any info on the JP6 Dargie I.

Can someone point out the differences between the I and II? I think there's a local dealer with one in stock.

The dealer listing on the Music Man site shows this was shipped to them "Petrucci_Trm_Piezo Carmel_Apple_Delight Ebony_Custom_Inlay No_Pg."

That's the Dargie Delight, is it not?

Yes. The Dargie 1's had Martini Glass inlays and were Dargie Green.

The Dargie 2's are Ebony fret board, with the Carmel Apple finish.

Hope this helps, Glenn |B)

To me, the main differences are that I have a Dargie II but I don't have an originally Dargie, thus I cry myself to sleep pretty often.

I think the question is does the Dargie II decrease the value or exclusivety of the Dargie I?

the main difference between both guitars is the fretboard wood.
the DD1 has a rosewood fretboard and the DD2 has an ebony fretboard.

That's a DDII JP...

...as Joe said the DDII's come with an ebony fretboard. Carmel Apple Delight is the DDII's shifting colour whereas the orig. Dargie's color was called Martini Olive Green. Another difference would be the DDII's oval fretboard inlays with paua in opposite to the orig. Dargie's Martini glass inlays.

Dargie 1 Feels more special,

and I think it's becuase it has never been done before - a guitar purely based out of a forum, and the torture along the way - oooooo the tortue, I remember the threads seeing the martini markers in a box.......

I like the Dargie 2 it's a really nice colour, but the Dargie 1 for me is the best but becuase I was here for it from start to finish and I feel (even though it wasn't anything to do with me) like I was part of it, and there every step of the way.

Plus a generous man re-opened the books to let me buy one!
