I feel like an idiot, but I'm a noob and can't help it.

What does Dargie mean? What's up with the Dargie guitars and basses? I think they look ultra sweet, and I would love to get my hands on one eventually.. but what are they all about?

I did a search on the forum so as to avoid posting anything unwanted, but I couldn't find anything.

Thanks in advance for your replies. I really feel at home on this forum.. you guys all seem really cool.

Well, basically, they were a "limited edition" thing. "Dargie" is short for "Dargin" which is Scott Ball's screen name here. The original Dargie Delight was a Sterling HS, IIRC. They were so popular here among the forumites and I suppose with people who saw them at whatever NAMM show that was that EBMM decided to do a short run of them. Some dealers may still have a Dargie lurking about. Some used ones come up for sale on occasion.

Hi MV
Take a look at this thread
http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-basses/17605-dargie-delight-production-s.html

They were a limited edition type "run" and the order window was opened and closed very quickly.

I think the fact that BP reckoned that green guitars didn't seem to sell very was one of the contributing factors.

Also they were offered with rosewood fretboards - something that the "normal run" of guitars like the Albert Lee doesn't have.

They had a martini glass inlay instead of fret dot markers and a special Dargie Delight badge under the clearcoat on the rear.

some of the Dargie owners may like to chip in with some more facts?

Man.. I love green guitars.

I really appreciate your guys' knowledge and help.

I saw a suprisingly cheap one the other day, and if I can come up with the bones she may be mine. :)

As much as I'd like to, man.. I've owned two guitars with that sort of pickup configuration, and I just never felt really comfortable with it.

I appreciate the offer, though.

Man.

You guys make me sick! I wish I had the cash flow to get beautiful guitars like that.

Oh well, I guess getting more balls is just another big part of getting older! ;) :p
