Just hoping someone will have some info on the assembly process at SLO!?

I recently bought a SUB5 that has no serial sticker on the headstock.
According to the EB serial database there was only one SUB5 made on the date of the body stamp.

So what I want to know is:
1: Is the stamp added just before adding the neck and adding a serial sticker.
Or
2: Are the bodies stamped on the day they’re completed before adding the neck and serial sticker?

If it’s option one then I believe I have the serial.
If it’s two, I probably don’t!

Any info you could share would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks 🙏🏻

The necks and bodies are individually stamped when they are completed. The serial is finalized in the build system when the entire instrument has been completed.

If you look under the pickup there may be a white sticker inside the cavity with a few different series of numbers on it. The long number (7 digits maybe?) with no dashes will be the order number, and with that EBMM can cross reference to look up the serial and build date. While I'm not positive the SUB instruments had this sticker, the rest of the EBMM line produced in SLO did.

Thanks Pete for the info - great stuff!😃

Sadly this one came with a Bart pickup and a crappy paint job courtesy of it’s previous owner. The only data visible was the “X04” model type, date stamp, “KS” written in sharpie and “D” stamped on the neck.
It would have been nice to know definitively but only for my curiosity!
Thanks again!
