I'm sure it was probably the usual bad information.
I don't expect to see much until the beginning to mid March at the earliest.

Well ... call MM and order a backplate to match ahead of time ... get it signed and then swap it on your DD when you eventually get it

I took a plate for MikeVT to have Luke sign in Dallas and he was more than happy too. Lukes awesome about that kind of stuff.

Do it man, call Customer Service and have them send you a new plate, it'll get there quicker.

How do the production runs work? Do the DDs get manufactured before all other guitars?

If so, does that mean that if the DDs are delayed in getting out, all the other guitars will similarly suffer?

we have production 'buckets" where we plan way in advance for the production run. In those buckets are contingency plans which usually mean that if there is a delay with lets say the DD, the you would get stuff sooner while we solved the DD problem

Ha ! lol! I have one of those plasma globes on my computer desk and at on top of it is a Party hat from Xmas (akin to a wig sitting on a polysyrene head ha!)
So in celebration I have put it (the hat not the wig) on and I raise a bottle of Bud to toast BP and his 5000th
