Dealers spamming?

Just a quick question on forum etiquette, as the FAQ section didn't seem to have an answer. I frequently see members looking for a specific model or color of EBMM. I work at Canada's largest independent retailer of EBMM guitars, and we have instock some of the instruments these members are looking for. Is it spamming to mention this on the forum, or is it in fact a service? We work hard at spreading the Word, and here in Canada it's sometimes difficult to find certain models in stock (but of course we would be delighted to help in ordering the MM of your dreams!). We have nine staff members that collectively own twelve EBMMs, so we definitely put our money where our mouth is, but I don't want to stick my foot in mine. What are the rules?-Eric

There are a few dealers on here who will let you know what they have.....so, I don't think it is a problem....However, DO NOT post pricing....that is frowned upon and will get your post deleted.

PM whoever is looking for a certain axe you might carry. That will keep the clutter down and get you and the individual involved privately....

I'd say, post on the forum and get known a little. Then, put up a website with some pics of the models you have, or get in. I know I, as a Canadian who has a hard time finding EB guitars, would really love to see that happen. There's more than a few Canadians here, so I'm sure it'd be very welcome.

As long as you do not post prices, I don't think there is anything wrong with posting your EBMM stock... What store is this?

Also, you're not supposed to ship to another country per the dealer agreement. But I'm sure a lot of our canadian friends would love easier access to EB's.

That's an understatement for me. Is it ok to say I despise my local EB dealer? They're overpriced to begin with, yet for MM guitars they take the overpricing, then add 30% I'm sure. I could buy a guitar from Japan, and I'm sure it'd end up cheaper to my door after shipping across the world, than buying from them. Some of the US prices seem very appealing, but like you said, they cannot ship to Canada.

Your best bet is probably to add a link to your company web site in your signature. Whenever you see Canadian brethren (or ladies, if any find their way here) looking for an EBMM instrument, chime in and let them know that you're a dealer. Direct them to your link or email, or have them Private Message (PM) you.

I don't think any of the dealers who participate here have posted their EBMM inventory in messages. Instead, innovative guys like Pete DuBaldo have made such a list on their own web site, and then directed us there to drool over his inventory. It seems to work because Pete is selling a lot of guitars to forum folks.

Just my two cents... personally I wouldn't be offended by a posted inventory list, but I think I'd defer to the moderators. (Mainly Jongitarz and Bovinehost.) I know that EBMM likes to keep the playing field level for dealers.

It's very cool that you checked on the etiquette though. I think that earns a lot of instant respect.

Where is your dealer, cause the 2 stores that I hang out at carry EBMM guitars. The CDN prices are pretty much in line with American prices. When you find American price and then do the Canadian dollar conversion. They are listed in the stores at the CDN value of what our American friends pay. And sometimes better priced, especially with the CDN dollar doing well. I have never come across overpricing on EBMM products. Hope that made sense

If you're in Canada, it's cheaper to buy from Canada.
This is great, because that's not necessarily the case with other products.

I know what you guys are saying, but often with conversion, shipping and taxes/customs fees, etc.. added, it still works out cheaper to buy from the US. I did buy my Axis in Canada, obviously, but got a decent deal on it, though I still believe it was too high. My dealer is in Nova Scotia, the only local one. They're overpriced on everything to the extent that I generally buy nothing from them other than the occasional pack of strings or picks.

Well not to worry Black Spy Mom And dad are going to talk to the Distributer At MIAC this year so hopefully Amherst Music in amherst Nova Scotia will be a new Ebmm Store and were we dont Deal With Fe**er OR Gib**N it will be my #1 line with the Best Prices in Atlantic Canada like all my Products!Plus we have been around for 27 years because of or service and i'm in love with the line soooooo im really looking for ward to MIAC and hope we can get the line.
