Hi All,

I was surprised while i watched one of dean parks video and found him using a black silhouette (in the last humbucker part). Was that a special edition for him or was it a modified one?Looks like not a regular silo one... quite neat one with seymour mini humbucker without mid pickup.

Nice to see him playing EBMM, great player using great guitar :). He had a nice sound through his Dr Z too IMO.

Dean Parks is a leading studio musician and guitarist from Ft Worth Texas. Dean was member of The North Texas State One O'clock Lab Band before moving to Los Angeles to work with Sonny & Cher in 1970. Dean is best-known through his many contributions to albums by Steely Dan. Notably, he played guitar on the Royal Scam track "Haitian Divorce" which features a Talkbox to produce a chicken clucking sound and the melody line on "Beat It" by Michael Jackson. He has performed with such internationally-known artists as Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Celine Dion, The Monkees, Madeleine Peyroux, America, Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Randy Travis, Bob Seger, Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, Michael Bublé, Barry Manilow, David Lee Roth, Dolly Parton, and B.B. King.

He was previously married to fellow musician Carol Parks, with whom he shares two daughters, Acacia and Amanda.

Parks has written songs and music for The Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation (with then-wife Carol), Bowfinger, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Big Bounce, Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story, and Letting Go, a series of songs by Cat Beach. Cat's latest album, recorded in fall 2008, Love Me Out Loud features Dean as lead guitarist as well as on pedal steel, along with Lee Sklar on bass and Herman Matthews on drums and percussion. Also in 2008, Parks participated in the production of the album Psalngs,[1] the debut release of Canadian musician John Lefebvre.

Parks joined David Crosby and Graham Nash on their U.S. tour in October 2008. According to Graham Nash's introduction during a show on the tour at George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium, Parks had recently acquired and was performing on a new Paul Reed Smith guitar.

Wow, thanks for the information Rob, that's quite a comprehensive one. I just know that he also contributed a lot in movie soundtracks. Did he release a solo album?

Thanks for the clarification Big Poppa, what a nice silhouette in that video, he is a very lucky guy could have a custom made one special from ernie ball.

I hope he could have a good luck with PRS.

Thanks for the comments guys.

This says enough right here. I had a chance to hear and mingle with some of these guys during a summer clinic in high school, and they're real meat eaters. They sight read better than most bands can do it when they've rehersed.
