hi forumites,

at our last rehearsal we came up with this riff for the chorus, but stucked in the end with too much ideas and came not a step further on the song.
so i set down yesterday and recorded the riff (two tracks, left Y2D hardtail with a 800 lead sound, right Y2D trem with recto style sound)....picked up the bass, programmed the drums and in the end, i started recording
vocals as well. i´m not the best singer at all....but for a demo version it should be o.k.

so now, i just want to hear / read you opinion on this track, and of course this song is supposed to sound like we are back in the 80s. ;)

Playing sounds like a mix of Gilmour/EVH/Morse :)

Really sounds like a nice punchy 80's song. Pretty much "in your face" kinda stuff. Very nice ! And the harmonics sound great, very appropriate!

In my opinion, a "soft" section just before a last punchy ending section who be a great fit also. Something like soft drums over a bass line with the vocals (and maybe some ambient chorused guitar chords over the top) !

Anyway, great job!!

thanks for the comments so far!

a soft section would really fit well, thanks for that.

i´m using samplitude 10 pro as my DAW, drummers are made with ezdrummer (metal machine add-on) and for the mixing i just used ezmix2 with different add-ons. the guitars are recorded with an avid eleven rack, the bass sound is amplified in an ezmix preset and for the vocals i used my MXL mic.

and this is, how my little homestudio looks like:

and here are the guitars:

Congrats Joe, you have a neat studio there!

I'd love to have the space needed for a "true rock room" in my house, but that's a project which will have to wait some time till I can buy the proper house for that :)
