I'm curious to see Desert Gold basses, specifically Bongo 5 HH's with different pickguard colors. I'm thinking of going with either tort or clear, but who knows... show me what you got!

The one I have has white ice. I've never been a fan of white pickguards on anything but black P's & J's. Makes it look like a toy, IMO. While white ice isn't really plain white, I'm still not a fan. I am digging the tort. Very nice.

White ice is often seen largely because most of the DG Bongos that GC bought have it. I can understand the appeal, but it's a bit too much like a creamsicle for my tastes. I like darker guards.

Plain black is underrated, especially when set against many of the stunning EBMM finishes.

Creamsicle is good enough for me, especially since my bass plays like butter :D. Maybe try a Black Ice pickguard. From the pics I've seen of Black Ice guards on Desert Gold stuff it looks pretty slammin.

My wife and mother went out of their way to tell me how much they liked the Desert Gold color of the instruments at the Ernie Ball booth at Crossroads this weekend.

That's saying something, folks.
