I think that would be a ton of pics to take...and I think the "instrument builder" is gone.

Yes but you would also then have to show the pickguard, neck variations pick up variations possibly...matching or unmatched headstock so to do it effectively you would have to be able to combine things.

i actually could do it with photoshop

First, you wouldn't want to do all those mentioned combinations in Photoshop manually (colours x pickguards x necks x headstocks x pickups x models)

Second, you would not be able to really get the colours represented properly by just changing the hue. Have a look at a colour like Blue Dawn (2007 LE) or Mystic Dream or the translucent wood tops and tell me how you'd do that in Photoshop...).

Maybe an Instrument Builder offering all those options could be accomplished with a really well done 3D rendering application working in the background, but the question is whether it's worth the effort. And whether people would be willing to wait for the image to be processed for them to be seen on the website.

Its good to have a lil mystery either way...Really the way I look at it,, its a musical instrument the colour combo is not the first thing I worry about.

a new idea!!!

ok cool well like i said it was just a suggestion, maybe an idea for the future i know it would take alot of time and resources to start with but as i say to my company about any big design projects once there done they are there for always and can be used for many applications.i know it would need updating once a year but that wouldnt take long.i think its great for people to visualise the product what they want. maybe you could have a program attached to the website that lets people render there own colours onto the guitars, there could be prizes for the best maybe even limited runs of the colours,THE POSSIABILTIES ARE ENDLESS BIG POPPA!!. iam getting excited just thinking about it i would love to head up your marketing campaign!! the capaign slogan could be something...................WE DESIGN THE GUITARS YOU DREAM THE GUITARS, you gotta let me put something together for you big poppa what do you say?

I know it's hard to believe, but we go through this same subject every few months or so and it just gets to be flogging, so I'm going to close this. BP can open it up again if he wants, of course.

I appreciate the input but also think that at some point instead of wanting o make sure Im listening to you that you should stop and listedn to what I have told you...Photo shop does not represent the products well enough with over 120,000 different possibilities......
