Hi,

I've heard that the mm90's are hard to replace in the Axis Sport because of the routing and location of the wire.

I decided to try anyway and I just want to report that the Lollar p90s went in without a hitch. I even used the same covers. The mm90's are great pickups and I was very happy with them but I have been wanting to try the Lollars in my Axis since I have his Tele pickups and LOVE them.

BTW, the Lollar p90's do not disappoint.

Thanks,

Steve

Rob,

I love the Lollars, a bit less of a top end and more raw edge at full volume. They get a bit dirtier and are hotter on attack (confirmed on my input meters). When you roll off the volume, the brightness comes back but not in a harsh way at all.

YMMV, but for me they are keepers. I did not do any A-B tracks but the Lollars are more in line with what I like. With a Soldano patch on Digi 11 they really sing. The string separation is amazing, you really hear every note. I personally really love the decay of p90's. It's like they sustain in a more natural way to me.

I love the way both the mm90's and the Lollars clean up with the volume knob. The Lollars can really go all the way to a very clean sound.

I just thought of something, I have Digi 11, Amp Farm, Guitar Rig 3 and Waves GTR. If anyone else has and Axis Sport with mm90's and any of those modelers, we could exchange some patches and play the same riffs and really do a straight A-B.

In any case it's nice to have a choice, they are both great.

Steve
