After owning my JP6BFR for over a year I decided to try different strings. Through on the EB 9-42s. Adjusted the trem springs and the truss rodd. Plays like butta. Anyone else prefer their EBMM with 9s?

Actually i did purely cuz I'm lazy and want ease of bends. But the 10's work better I found with Piezo...so now I'm using hybrid .009 - .046 sets on both my EBMM's and lovin it.

I went to straight 10's on my JPX. I run .13's on my BFR :) I also really like the hybrid set on the Morse. I had to mix and match from a set of 9's and 10's, but it's cool.

I really loved the responsiveness of 9's. So fluid and smooth, and help me to even out my lead tone, but man, I broke RPS 9's like they were warm string cheese.

I'm still having trouble with 10's T_T

Pink Super Slinky's. I am not aware of any other guitar strings.

The choice of a string sets depends really on what you are playing.
I am currently playing with 10-46 strings and I will switch to 11-52 or 10-52. The main reasons for this choice are :
  • for some songs I play with a slide
  • I use several tuning (EADGBe, DADGBe, DADGAD, DGDGBD, F#ADGBe). When you down tune, you need heavier strings
  • my hands are quite strong, thus my bends are too sharp with light strings
No sacrilege ! Play with the strings you like !

+1 QFT

I play RPS 10's on my 25th tuned to standard. I would prefer 11's but with basswood and the ton block my lo end can flub out quite easily. I have a heavy hand as well.

For my Silo Spec, I'm using RPS 11's and I'm tued to Eb, and I would like to go to 12's or 13's. I have big hands.

I actually really want to use 9's or hybrid 9.5's because for lead tones they just sound so fluid and round, but I think I have to wait for a guitar that matches me. Maybe a JP? Hehehehe
