Economists say that something is worth what someone else s willing to pay for it. Prices on used gear is all over the map. Factors such as if it is for sale by a store or a person on craig's list or a person on ebay or factor in. Also someone people get desperate to sell their gear and sell it at a blowout price. If you thought it was a good deal be at peace with that. If it is from a store you can always return it also.

+1 with Brokenvail.
I paid $600 for my MD !!!!!
BUT, it had been resprayed white , had two dead piezo saddles a broken piezo switch and it is road worn.

I spent a lot of work on it and managed to get it back to it's original colour. (click on link in my sig to see the full story).

So the price on a used JP6 MD will vary considerably.

The new street price on a non-piezo Mystic Dream is $1,855. If you picked up a used one, and its in good condition and talks to you, I'd say you did well

I'd say fair price...

As been said it's only what your willing to pay for it... so i think you did pretty good. Whenever i sell or buy i always tell myself it was a good deal for both parties... some transactions have lead to other buys sells and have gotten even better deals...
All in all.. you did good

If the guitar is close to mint you paid a fair price. I hope you bought it to play the hell out and beat it to death which is what guitars are all about. In the future if you know you are going to buy used -be patient! The JP is more than likely the biggest selling EB model so there are a lot of them out there, and the more popular the guitar the better the odds of getting a good deal. The for sale thread on the forum is always a great place to keep an eye on, as the guys try to keep things in the family and no one is looking to gouge anyones eyes out.
