Black is just Black....glossy, beautiful, dark, black.

Sapphire Black is more of a charcoal gray - with sparkly undertones of blues and purples. Depending on the lighting, it can look anywhere from black to gray. Take a look at the pics in my sig to get an idea of how gray it can look. It's an awesome color.

Hmmm, as odd as it sounds, every time I see the black on MMs, it looks ... uh... "blacker"? than other models of guitars! That's where my vote goes!

I agree. The depth of the black is...well...a lot blacker than many other blacks I've seen. I particularly love the black of my 2006LE AL. It's so gorgeous. I wish that pics on the net could really show how great the black is. You just don't know until you see it. It makes me want to look for more 2006LE instruments like a JP and a Luke. Unfortunately, money doesn't grow on trees.
