Ok, so I've been playing a lot of different guitars the last few years, and I finally found what I think is "my" guitar.. The JP BFR 7 string.
I got my first a few days ago, and I've been playing ever since... Checking techniques, tonality, and so forth..
This is the perfect guitar for me..
I finally found out what was just right for me, and I am so exited!

With that in mind, I turned my attention to all the different models..
I now have the version with alder body beneath a maple top.
I am looking at a JP7 BFR KOA, but sadly most KOA tops looks a little...well.. I'm not sure if I find that appealing to my eyes... so I'm looking for a "flamed" version..
I keep hearing that MusicMan never actually know what kind of KOA wood turns up on the floor, so it would be difficult to order one... Advised to look for one in a shop, where I could see the top myself..
Well.. Those are hard to get by these days.

When I have the funds ready, will it be possible to like.. sign up for one or something?

Till my funds are ready, I'll play my ass off on my beautiful new JP7 BFR Special Build :D

I love her to death!

Check out GC list of KOA Petruccis on their "Platinum" site. They have pics for at least 15 of them, all of which have different tops.

They "really" suck...

Hey man, didn't know you posted on here as well!
For my JP7 I actually got to talk to someone in guitars at the factory and requested a flamed Koa top.
He said they woild look for the flamiest piece of Koa they had.
I'm more than happy with how mine turned out.
There's my thread on SS with some more pictures on here if you want to check it out again. :)

Oh! As a side note too, as far as I know if you order a Koa new, you'll get the traditional gold hardware. Some of the Koa's you see at GC is a special for them, and those come with chrome hardware.
If you fancy the gold hardware as I do.
