What an awesome concept for guitar necks, reproducing necks that have been road worn for years and have that wonderful broken in feel. I know that this method was used on the original EVH and now the Morse Y2D but I have a couple questions.

Does the new Y2D neck profile (digital repro of Steve's #1) also go on the regular Morse model now?

Are there any other guitars by any manufacturer that have used this concept?

The updated neck that went on the Y2D also made it's way to the standard Morse models.

As for other manufacturers, I'm sure a number of them have the ability to do something similar. Can't speak as to whether or not there are production instruments that have a neck profile based on a particular reference instrument ... somebody here probably knows.

I´m not 100% sure, but think that the change went place at the same time, they started to produce them with the compensated nut. Must be around late 2005 (?)

That's my memory as well - it seems like they were on the standard Morse's shortly after the first of the Y2Ds finally shipped out and started hitting the dealers. Probably in the last quarter of 2005.
