Hello, I just installed strings Slinky Flatwound Cobalt 2815 on my Sting Ray 34HH.
I am very happy with the sound but from the 9th fret the sound becomes dissonant and even awful from the 17th. A sort of mush of harmonics.
I did not have this problem with the original strings delivered on the bass.
Has anyone had this problem before?
Thank you for your answers.
David

Hey David. My guess is that the pickups are interfering with the vibration of your new Cobalt strings. Although your setup may have been ok for your previous strings, I would try lowering the pickups slightly.
