DJ Ashba Joins Guns N Roses

Guns N Roses has announced that DJ Ashba, guitarist with Sixx:AM and Beautiful Creatures, has entered the band to replace Robin Finck, who is currently touring with Nine Inch Nails.

"DJ 's a gifted, energetic guitarist that Guns N' Roses is proud to have on board!!" exclaims Axl Rose. "We're very excited to have the opportunity to work together. Guns' radar has silently been aware of DJ's presence for quite some time! He brings a fresh approach to our particular brand of mayhem, expanding the tapestry of Guns N' Roses live. Once DJ's name was in the hat, the hat disappeared!!"

Wonder if Big Poppa has some background story on that.

OT - Is it just me, or does GNR run through guitars more than Metallica does bassists?

DJ is a great player and an endorsed EBMM artist. I believe that Axis was done for him in support of Sixx AM - The Heroin Diaries. Not 100% certain mind you, but, I believe that is it.

Not really into GNR, but, they have 2 great guitarists in DJ and Bumblefoot. I am interested in hearing both of them play together.

New Axe

DJ called on Thursday noon. He was just faxed the contract to join the band and asked us not to mention it outside the office. We discussed a new custom AXE and we should be able to do for him in time for the tour coming up. It is going to be a mind bender......

I saw him play with Beautiful Creatures back in the fall of 2001 and even back then he had quite the arsenal of Music Man Axis guitars. Great player!

It's also a great news for HTD : Bumblefoot plays a Vigier and DJ a Music Man (HTD is the French distributor of Music Man and is own by Patrick Vigier ...)

i had dinner with Ron Thal (Bumblefoot) Saturday night (GnR is in town for rehearsals) and he confirmed that DJ is the new guy. Ron says DJ is a super nice guy and should work out great with this line up (3 guitar players!)

Ashba's guitars are amazing, someone posted a link to a gallery of all his Axis custom jobs around here once and it made me wish EB had a custom shop for the rest of us

Great news from a promotional point of view for EBMM.
Im very biased though when it comes to GNR as i was a hardcore fan back in the day with the originial line up and slash to me is still the main man behind the classic GNR sound and is one of my all time favourite guitarists.
Best of luck to this new guy DJ Ashba though!
