I was wondering if the Onyx JPXI guitars came out after all JP guitars were made with SS frets or before. Looking at buying a used one for a fantastic deal and am dead set on getting SS frets. Your help is much appreciated.

I'm new to EBMM so I'm no expert by any means, but I bought a used JP13 last month and did a fair bit of research because stainless frets were absolutely crucial to be (my Parkers have ruined me). It would seem that the easiest way to be sure that a JP has the stainless frets is that it has the new profile bridge (no cut-in near the trem bar opening). One thing to be careful of is making sure that the used guitar you're looking at is actually the model you want it to be. I came across a beautiful guitar on the Guitar Center used site that was listed as a JPXI with stainless frets, but noticed that while it had a gorgeous quilt black top, I couldn't find another JPXI with a quilt top. So it was just mislabeled. The shape of the bridge plate was the giveaway that it was probably not equipped with stainless frets.

I believe the XI was the first model that had stainless (and had them from the start), and the others were switched a while after its introduction.
