I think I've tightened my Axis S.S. truss rod 4 times this winter and I need to adjust it again. Is this normal? Do the bolts actually back out? I hope I'm not running out of thread.

I don't think they actually loosen, but wood definitely moves. Lots of factors here, your climate, temp and humidity in your house. Guitars dry out in the winter, I have to really do adjustments to my guitars after fall. Hope this helps.

Adjustments in the winter time are normal. It really all depends on the environment. 4 adjustments doesn't seem extraordinary. Temperature and relative humidity play a key factor. You can always call customer service and they'll give you some good advice.

If you live in a cold region, you should run your humidifier in the winter. I run mine daily due to the forced hot air and the wood stove. That helps quite a bit.

Each piece of wood is different too. Some are more temperamental than others. I have 2 Albert Lees with maple necks and one with rosewood. One of my maples requires frequent adjustments. The other maple requires an adjustment about once every 3-5 months. I've never had to adjust the rosewood.
