DoB on an old Leo Fender Music Man?

Anyway, a friend of mine has a (he thinks) 1976 Leo Fender Music Man serial# a00000011.

Is there anyway to find out when these things were actually made?

I know it's probably a stretch but I figured I'd ask.

I think they have the dates stamped in the neck pocket.

If the guitar weighs close to the MM stingray guitar I saw recently your friend will probably need help lifting it.
