So, I own a Squier P-Bass special. It was my first bass, and I just started a year or two ago. I seem to be a quick learner, and my talent surpasses my instrument at this point. I've been playing all sorts of models looking for an upgrade... I was playing a loaner Fender Jazz that I enjoyed, I've played a few nice Ibanez models. But the more I consider what new bass to buy, the less inclined I am toward these $300-$700 range instruments. If I'm going to get a new bass and just want to upgrade after a couple years, it really isn't worth it. So, I decided to save up and go all out and grab a Stingray that'll last me a decade or longer.

I started looking at the different models, and lurked on this forum for a bit... this led me to the decision to go for the HH setup, and to get a Stingray over a Sterling. I really like the Black Cherry Burst, but I found the Pacific Blue Burst on basscentral.com and fell in love with it. The problem is, that's the only place I've seen it with the HS set-up, and I can't find it in HH anywhere. Is this a rare colour? Or is it popular and sells out quickly? Or do they simply not make it with the HH setup?

If anyone has one for sale, sorry, I can't buy for a few months at the least... I'm just asking out of curiosity.

PBB is a gorgeous color that not a lot of people go for, unfortunately.

The Stingray is available in PBB in all pickup configurations. You'd have to find one or order one through your local friendly dealer!

Stick around, and good luck getting the 'Ray when you're ready!

Just order one. It is definitely available in that configuration. The sooner you order one, the sooner you will have your new bass. I recommend Pete Dubaldo. Welcome to the new DuBaldo Music Center website! He'll give you a good deal and ship it to you for free. I ordered my 08LE Bongo through him and had it in less than 4 months...closer to 3 months.

Haven't posted this here in awhile...

Only 1 H though (and not a SR).

Just order it, you'll like it. Only get the flat black pg. The abalone looks too busy, I think.

PBB is a rare color due to popularity...pretty under rated color if you ask me. All bass models of the PBB come in HH style...go to your dealer and order a brand new baby and in 4 months you'll have a great bass...my first bass was a Ibanez Soundgear 390 and it was a great first bass...a year and half after i was playing bass I upped up and ordered a brand new Stingray and haven't regretted that decision yet...

I can't wait for my PBB fretless stingray to come in from the factory...it's just a gourgious looking color from photographs...i got a matching headstock too

My first bass was an Ibanez RD300. I still have it and I love it to bits, but it doesn't do everything I want it too. And whilst comfortable to play the super thin neck seems to give my hand cramps when I play it for too long (hours). Second bass was a CRAPTASTIC Washburn T24 Taurus (please, nobody ever buy this bass) which I played for 4 months, hated, and got an SR4. Haven't looked back since.

Planning on probably getting an SR5 or Bongo 5 in the future. EBMM makes a quality instrument and is a name I know I can trust! ;)

For the record you can order a Stingray in Pacific Blue Burst with any pickup configuration that we offer. The same goes for the Stingray 5, Sterling and Sterling 5.

Also for the record, that color is awesome. Highly recommended (especially when combined with a maple fretboard and matching headstock).

How would I go about ordering directly from the manufacturer? I checked the official site and couldn't figure it out. Also, how much would it end up costing? When I'm ready to order it I'll be looking for a Stingray 4 HH w/rosewood fretboard, matching headstock and a hard case. Thanks for the info guys.. and cut it out with the pictures, they're making me salivate. :p

Why is it so nany people think you can direct order from Ernie Ball/Music Man? Heck even really small instrument manufactures have dealers you need to go through (yes I know there are xception, but they are not worth mentioning LOL).

No one needs to answer, just thinking out loud (so to speak).
