A used trans-orange Axis Sport (pre-supersport if possible) with matching headstock and MM90's, hardtail with quilt top?

How much extra would I expect to spend for piezo?

(Is $650-850 plus $125 for piezo anywhere close?)

You can't buy a "pre-supersport" Sport with a quilt top... The Axis Sport had an Ash body - no maple top.

You can't by an Axis Sport with a piezo either - they were never made with the option...

So, you're looking for a Super Sport if you want a quilt top with piezo... For a used one, $900 would be a really good price, I imagine...

A used Axis Sport with MM90s will run you $600 and up on da 'bay, but I don't know if they ever did an MM90-equipped Sport in trans-orange (I've seen some H/S/S and S/S/S models in that color though).

All this talk of wood reminds me of a joke I heard once...

Two trees were growing in the forest and noticed a smaller tree growing between them. They were trying to figure out who might have been the father of the smaller tree and couldn't decide. One day a woodpecker flew over and they asked him, you seem to be an expert on trees, is this little one here the son of a maple or the son of a poplar? The woodpecker flew down and gave it the once over, flew back and told them it's neither, that tree there is the finest piece of ash I've ever put my pecker in.

bada bing... thank you folks I'll be here all week. ;)

My Bad..
I guess a quilt trans orange would mean super sport.
Has anyone gotten prices/seen prices lately for these?
Thanks

I think I paid about $850.00 for mine, it was NOS. I have had it over a year now. Great guitar and what tone. I have attached a picture along with some of its other friends.

Tommy,
Thanks, I love these old Guilds. They are great guitars and I too love the way they sound. The blue one is an 81 and is in excellent condition. The blue is the orginal custom color ordered from the factory. Its a keeper.

Did you ever use those pickups? If so how do they sound?

if it's the covered mini humbuckers (like a firebird)......they sounded Really nice to me. not overwound...& very fat..but still clear & VERY open.especially for a hummer.
the full size ones sound real good too.....but darker...& not quite as open sounding.
i love that blue one !!!

Good one, here's another for our viewing pleasure:

Be sure you lock your doors and windows at home. A local man was
> murdered
> in
> his home over the weekend. Detectives found him face down in the bathtub.
> The tub had been filled with milk and cornflakes, and a banana was
> sticking
> out of his butt.
>
> Police suspect a cereal killer.
