Does EBMM offer Wenge/Bubinga necks?
I've been noticing a lot of guitars being made with Bubinga necks as of late and was curious to know if EBMM had ever offered that wood type?
Here are some properties on the wood itself:
Bubinga (Guibourtia demeusei):
Fine grained and super smooth, Bubinga has long been a favorite of the discriminating ears of the famous. Used by companies such as Rickenbacker for fretboards and Warwick for bodies. As a bass neck, it brings bright midrange and a thick, well defined bottom. Bubinga is also a very stiff wood adding strength and stability to its list of assets. This is one formidable tonewood!
I remember hearing that JP may start prototyping out an 8 string model. I think a bubinga neck may be ideal for that kind of extended range guitar.
Opinions?
Edit: Meant to ask if they offered a combination of Wenge/Bubinga necks. I've been watching a lot of Tosin Abasi interviews and came across one where he specifically talked about his signature guitar and they went into detail on the Wenge/Bubinga neck and was curious on why i've never heard of these woods being used for a guitar neck before. I've only known of Rosewood, Mahogany or Maple being used on the neck.
Ninja Edit: After looking at all the specs on the MM website I've come to realize there are a ton of different wood options...
Heres a list if anyone else is curious.
