Off Topic Does Petrucci Use Triode or Pentode?

Does anyone know? I cant seem to find it and I have conflicting ideas in my head.

I would think he would use pentode. He is able to get SUCH a heavy sound out of his amp...although, I could be wrong...

Pentode. I know for a fact there's a pic of his settings from various amps on the JP forum. Search that forum and you'll definitely find it.

I'm sure he does use the IIC+ mode on the V. The IIC+ amps are originally wired in triode. You'll find out more about it on the JP forum and Boogie Board then you will here.

So wait, now I'm confused... Are you saying that even though he uses the IIC+ setting on the Mark V that he still uses Pentode?

I'm not questioning you, I'm just making sure I get it.

you know, the pentode really just adds a bit more power so I bet that's why he uses pentode. of course, I dont know.

As far as the V goes, I don't know if he's using Pentode or Triode. Pentode is more power so he's probably using that. When he was using his rig with the IV's, he was also using Pentode.

If you want to stay true to the original IIC+ sound then use Triode.
