I've been looking for an Emerald burst BFR Ass with a hardtail & maple board for a while. A guy on the forum had one for sale but refused to answer any of my PM's regarding it. Almost 2 weeks ago, I gave up & inquired about ordering a new BFR in Bahama blue. I happened to have a GC promotion of 15% off but was advised that it was only good for "in store" items. I asked my GC rep if he could search their entire inventory & see if there was an Emerald BFR hanging around somewhere"undiscovered". He assured me that nothing was showing up in their entire inventory. I even called AJ (EBMM cust. service) and he couldn't find one either.
i proceeded to hammer several beers and play my 4 existing Balls. After about a six pack, I came downstairs to give my fingers a rest and relieve my bladder. I jumped on the forum quickly, and low & behold, there was a post from BP that was 2 minutes old. It was the post about the EVH at Sherman Oaks GC. I didn't believe what I saw. I immediately called there and spoke with the sales rep. He shot a couple of iphone pics over to me and I made a quick decision to purchase it as an investment. Within seconds of receiving the pics, my phone rang. It was the salesman from GC asking if I wanted the EVH. He had to know immediately as another prospective buyer (Jackson 2112) was also inquiring. I immediately responded in affirmation and the deal was done. The GC rep called me a few other times to let me know how heated things had gotten between the 2 salesmen. He had to show him my initial phone record to prove that I did, in fact, call first. I think I was about 4 minutes ahead of the other caller.
Crazy as it is, 2 days later Icedlatte posted pics of his new AL all rosewood neck. In one of the pics, there was my dream Ball; an Emerald BFR ASS. It had been hanging on the wall of GC Hollywood for nearly 3 years. Again, I panicked and quickly raced to call Adam at GC Hollywood and brokered yet another deal. After hearing my story from the week before, he honored my expired 15% discount. I don't think I can advertise the price, but PM me & I will be happy to tell you how much I stole this jewel for. Here's the pics of my 2 latest and a family shot:

Great story, great score, great collection.....although it seems like you need an Al or a Silo Special in there to really round things out a bit.

Incredible!!!

I love all of them!!! Might be too early to ask but among the 6 which one is your number 1?

Not really sure. It may take me a few years to figure out. I have a weird new theory on neck woods. All rosewood is incredible, all maple is also incredible. When you combine both, something is just a little different. Until today,my BFR Black Cherry Burst was the most comfortable guitar to just walk around the house with. I'm gonna have a great time trying to figure it all out though........
Thanks to all for your accolades and great support. I'm very fortunate to have all of these fine guitars.

Texas Finally!
Nice one Kevin, great pick up on both, man I wish I would have moved on that Emerald Green, and yea maple necks at GC tend to get nasty if they sit too long, I would rather age it myself.

Was the Emerald NOS or Used? Never quite figured that out. Keep it up and well you will be the new Assman!!
