That was cool! Thanks for posting! Awesome that they let everybody have a glimpse on how they did it.

Also great to see how even for them, there are those awkward moments at the end of the audition where it is hard to find the right words or know what to say.

I'm not generally a fan of that type of music (musical math), but I have seen at least three of those drummers live and they are all monsters! It's hard to imagine being as good as any of those guys and not getting the gig.

Wow, way cool! I didn't know the outcome before watching the vids and hoped for Mike to get the job all the time!

It kind-of reminds me of a question someone asked John Patitucci a long time ago at a clinic I attended: who's your favourite drummer to play with? His answer was something like when they're that good, who can complain? (he was playing with Dave Weckl and Vinnie Colaiuta a lot at the time)

Anyone notices the strength he plucks the strings with? And he maintains that for 15-20 minute songs.

Ugh, ...this part 3 left me breathless...

Anyway, exactly at 13:25 minutes try to pause, ...You guys will see only volume knob pulled out, other 3 knobs (yes, it looks like 3 band EQ to me) are pushed in... ...maybe some special custom order from John, push-pull tone knobs ??? It's not such a bad idea, avoid to accidentally re-tune the tone..., what do ya think guys???

And one more time, is this silver, or ice blue silver Bongo 6?

Looks like the Silver. Here is the quote from JM in the article I posted earlier on page one of this thread:

'You're famous for playing six-string basses. What models are you currently using? Do you see any changes to your instruments in the near future?

"That's a really good question. I've been playing a Bongo bass by Ernie Ball Music Man, and I've been experimenting with different neck and body dimensions over the last year. It's actually really hard to make changes when it comes to spacing and body mass - there's so much retooling that has to go on.

"But the company has been really cool in listening to my thoughts about where the bass needs to go in terms of body mass and neck spacing. Just a few weeks ago they sent me a combination that has really worked for me, so I hope it'll turn out to be a new model."

Yeah, I noticed this article before, ...but back to this pushed tone knobs, ...now I must correct myself, it couldn't be 3 band EQ, 'cause in that case pickup balance knob is missing!
But than ...maybe is first to the volume pot indeed a balance pot, than just 2 band EQ is left???

Any comments?
