I wish l was excited about this release but l'm not, l haven't really liked what l've heard so far, as great players they are, it sounds like Octaverium part 2 and that album was a disappointment and a half, they have to stop wearing their influences on their shoulders.

Delete my post if you will, just my opition of it.

+1

(if we're talking about Constant Motion here)

I do like the songs, but it's nothing special for me. Not catchy. Not nearly as good as some of their stuff.

Scott and Junior I know what you mean about Octavarium. But to be honest, from what I'm gathering about SC, the last thing DT is going to do is "wear their influences on their shoulders". Plus, DT has a history of reacting to their previous albums so this could be a reaction to Octavarium. Just my 4 cents...

But, In Constant Motion sounds, to me, like old-skool Metallica. Primarily in the vocals. Not assigning a value to that, just observing.

BTW, I liked Octavarium. It's toward the top of my list.

^^I think that's just LaBrie doing his growly voice. He does it on a couple tracks on a bunch of albums. Chances are the other tracks will sound different. I think we can say from experience that you can never judge a DT album based on one song, because they always variate so much. (as I'm typing this I'm noticing that we're straying far into DT-forum territory). The tone of JP's guitar is great though! Hurray for BFR's

Hahathis is getting quite funny! I've already spoken to several people about the song, and 95% say that is sounds like Metallica. :D

 The vocals are very Metallica-ish. That was the very, absolute, first thing I ever thought about the song. The second was that JP's tone wins. The third was that the song is going to run sh** live. The fourth thought I had was the guitar and key solos being insane.

I was singing it at work today after about 6 listens, yesterday. I'd say it's pretty catchy.

Some parts sound Metallica-ish....but if you're going to harp on that 95% of anything heavy after 1986 sounds like Metallica. The intro riff is where the money is...and that my friends doesn't sound like Metallica...
