Once agian thanks for keeping in contact with us via the Forum....

Ok....now that I know who Dudley is, I want him to join too.

I want to know when he's going to make more double neck Pets. I happened to pick up the 'Rock Discipline' DVD this past weekend, and in the gear section, JP mentions that Dudley made it for him....

As a dyed-in-the-wool fan(atic) of Mr. Dudley Gimpel's guitar designs, I think it'd be terrific to have him join us here from time to time... The Axis and Silhouette are fantastic designs - destined to classic status, I have no doubt - and I'd love to learn more about their development...

And as an aside, I'm thinking more and more that a lot of this information should be recorded and compiled somewhere - putting together a detailed history of Ernie Ball Music Man guitars and basses would be an interesting project, and a worthy one; there's plenty of interest in this stuff to judge by the constant influx of Q's on this board...

Its down to you guitarists....The bassists went off topic and gave any sane man that works for a company reason to hide.

Dudley is not being testy, he just knows that this is something that is hard to stop once you start. His other choices are heroin, fly fishing, drag racing, or naked twister. I know which one i would choose!

Sorry to hear that but I understand. So we just wait and look out for a new guitar design.

BTW I would pick naked twister.

Hmmmmm, who else is involved in the naked Twsiter?

I want to hear the story behind the Mr Horsepower guitars more than anything else. How it came about, who approached who and how long it took to work out how to fit so much madness into a bastardised AL!

I really hope Dudley chooses to enlighten us with some background stories into current models as well as what the future holds for EBMM from a design and features aspect.

I wonder if Dudley would start posting if I only communicated with him via the Forum? I know his desk is about 30 feet from me, but it might work! JK:rolleyes:

Dudley, it looks like your public awaits!

It does raise the question of where Dudley should post?
I say here on the guitar side mostly. He's more like one of us...minus the bad things.

I'd like to hear the tales behind many things, like:

* how the 4+2 headstock came into being

* the epic tale of the design of the Silhouette

* how you guys came up with the JP tremolo.. it's just amazing!

I'll probably have a lot more after the Open House, when I hope to get my hands on several different Music Man models for comparison.

Who is this Dudley you guys keep going on about...I mean when I took a hiatus from the boards awhile back I understood why you guys kept posting "Where's Raz" or "I hope Raz is alright" throughought the forums. I afterall have some celebrity like status here among the forumites. I want to know who is cutting into my attention time. I'm calling you out Dudley...

This is painful, but true.

I'd love to see a "Dudley's Design Diary" or something, where Dudley describes how he approaches designing a signature guitar for an artist. I'd be really interested to know how you get from, copy and improve the guitar the artist currently uses, to make a guitar that is perfect for them. It'd be easy enough to just clone the dimensions of the neck and body, etc..., but these things come out so perfectly that everyone wants them too, besides the artist. Are there any tradeoffs made in order to satisfy the artist, yet still have an instrument that the public will buy? Things like that...
