Early Axis w/Floyd Rose - How to remove the trem arm???

I just purchased my 3 AXIS. This one is very early, mid 90's just after the EVH left for Peavey. The trem Arm has a side allen screw. Even after I removed this screw the trem bar will not come out. Is there another step?

I'm pretty sure you need to undo the back plate of the guitar and unscrew it from the other side. They were not meant to be removed on a regular basis apparently. The allen grub screw is just to control how easily it moves.

Thanks. There's an Allen screw at the end of the trem arm located underneath the back plate.
